For the Cajun seasoning:

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to spice preference)
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt

For the shrimp and steak:
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip), cut into desired portions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (adjust according to taste)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Cajun Seasoning
  • In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of paprika, 1 tablespoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and dried thyme.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper for heat (adjust to taste), 1 tablespoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of salt.
  • Mix all the spices together until well combined. Set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Shrimp and Steak
  • Peel and devein 1 pound of large shrimp. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut 1 pound of steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip) into desired portions. Pat the steak pieces dry as well.

Step 3: Season the Shrimp and Steak
  • Place the dried shrimp and steak pieces in a large mixing bowl.
  • Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the shrimp and steak, tossing them until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over the shrimp and steak, tossing again to coat them thoroughly with the seasoning. Adjust the amount of seasoning according to your taste preferences.

Step 4: Preheat the Grill
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.

Step 5: Grill the Shrimp and Steak
  • Once the grill is hot, place the seasoned shrimp and steak onto the grill grates.
  • Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Cook the steak to your desired level of doneness, flipping once halfway through the cooking time. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the steak and your preferred level of doneness.

Step 6: Serve
  • Once cooked, remove the shrimp and steak from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the shrimp and steak.

Enjoy your delicious Grilled Cajun Shrimp and Steak with your favorite sides!
